BACARDI LEGACY | 2014 COCKTAIL COMPETITION

 

As part of the ANDPEOPLE team, I worked as curator and project manager with Bacardi in hosting their Global Legacy Cocktail Competition. With the event moving to Johannesburg and an increase in finalists, targeted guests and scale of event, we worked closely with local Brand Ambassador Kevin Snyman in creating a bespoke experience that leveraged brand heritage while exceeding both audience and competitor expectations. Held at Katy’s Palace in Sandton, the venue was well suited to bringing across the old-world Cuban style that Bacardi is world renowned for.
 

The event saw seven contestants battle it out to an audience of over 200 guests. Some extraordinary cocktails were produced for a panel of distinguished judges but it was Assaf Yechiel who took home the trophy on the merit of his ‘Dreamcatcher’ cocktail; winning himself a trip to Moscow to represent South Africa in the Global Bacardi Legacy Final.
