CAT® RUGGED PHONES 2018

 

In 2018, I was approached by Positive Dialogue Communications (Cape Town based PR agency) to collaborate on social media management, content creation/curation, paid campaign management, strategic development, reporting and analysis on the CAT Rugged Phones Facebook page. My duties included:

 

  • Receiving RFP, developing pitch, pitching and winning client

  • Receiving and interpreting new client briefs

  • Developing and managing the implementation of communication strategies across local social media channels

  • Creative direction and content production

  • Researching relevant case studies, current trends, competitor analysis and industry innovations

  • Working with management and creative teams to ensure successful implementation of strategies and deliverables across all campaigns and platforms

  • Analysis of and reporting on campaigns and platforms based on KPI’s and objectives

  • Developing, managing and overseeing paid budgets

 

CASE STUDY

 

Durability is at the heart of every Cat® product. Cat phones are no exception. The trio of Cat smartphones; Cat S61, Cat S41 and Cat S31, boast leading rugged credentials and all carry IP68 or more and MIL-Spec 810G rating. They will survive drops, water, dusty and sandy environments and they all have powerful batteries to keep up with your long day. Cat phones are innovative, fit for purpose and reliable products from a brand that is recognised and trusted.

 

 

SOCIAL MEDIA OBJECTIVES

Key objectives included raising awareness around new products while increasing brand awareness around the CAT brand in South Africa. CreateSA was responsible for the following deliverables:

  • Developing and implementing social media, content and communication strategies 

  • Copywriting of content in line with brand tone of voice

  • Month-to-month curation and content plan development

  • Community management and implementation of all posts

  • Planning and scheduling of paid campaigns

  • Monthly tracking, reporting and analysis of all statistics and data

 

 

MEASURABLE RESULTS

 

After a 6-month audit (of the South African audience and geo-posts only), the CAT® Rugged Phones Facebook page delivered the following results:

  • A 45% increase in page likes in SA only

  • A total reach in SA of 1.1mil

  • 400% growth in local unique engagements over the 6-month period
